At least 3,725 people are living on the streets in Riverside County, California.  This has created a social crisis where many businesses, such as restaurants and convenience stores, have been significantly affected,  resulting in financial fallout.

Outdoor dining has been banned in restaurants, and stores are forced to close early in the day in Riverside County. Because it is illegal to remove homeless people from public spaces, local authorities cannot take action. In the last 3 years, Riverside County has built 450 shelters, but it is challenging to get people who have mental illnesses or addictions to comply with the shelters’ guidelines. Curfews are the most disregarded rule.
