Nasia Colebrooke

September 25, 2019

As a child, Nasia was a voracious reader and short story writer. She loved to challenge herself by trying different things, and she thought she might become a doctor because she is obsessed with science and biochemistry. But in order to avoid too much math, Nasia returned to her first love – creative writing. In 2017, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English at the University of The Bahamas, and found a job as a marketing representative in 2018. Now, Nasia works as a copyeditor for a local daily newspaper.

Having lived in her hometown all her life, when Nasia first heard about the NYU online journalism masters program, she believed it was the moment she had been waiting for.
