The Story Continues for This Local Bookstore

Within the heart of the Playhouse Village in Pasadena lives the oldest and largest independent bookstore in Southern California: Vroman’s Bookstore. This bookstore was one out of the many businesses that struggled during the COVID-19 pandemic.

‘The Future is Still Unknown’ for This Pasadena Theater

The Playhouse District is a pillar of the Pasadena community. Deep within the center of it is the Laemmle Playhouse 7, a family-owned movie theater that has resided in Pasadena since 1999. Known for their exquisitely cozy locations, indie films from all over the world and deliciously buttered popcorn.

Los Angeles’ Skylight Books Isn’t Writing Its Epilogue

Skylight Books has been a staple of the community since 1996 when it took over from the previous tenant, another bookstore named Chatterton’s. As you walk through the front door, you’re greeted by a tree in the middle of the store covering the skylight window on its wood- domed ceiling. Its branches drape over the mythology section.
