NYC Singer Receives Acclaim From The Lumineers

(NEW YORK) – During the pandemic, singer and songwriter Elliot Greer wrote an entire album. Not just any album, the album was recorded in three bathrooms, two closets, and one laundry room. 

Originally from Scotland, Greer moved to New York City to pursue a career in acting and music. He had been performing in the musical Once when the Covid-19 lockdown started.

Like many artists, Greer was forced to start creating from home. With the help of his girlfriend Jess, Greer purchased basic recording equipment and got to work. 

“I thought if I don’t take this opportunity to write something, this is it,” said Greer. “This is as good as it’s going to get from a lack of distraction. I just see this as if I’ll never get this opportunity again.”

The self-made album titled “Handcrafted” has already been streamed over 50,000 times on Spotify. Then, the album caught the eye of one of the best-known Indie-Folk bands in the world, The Lumineers.

The group shared it on their social media and even added it to their playlist so fans could listen. The lead singer reached out to Greer to share his thoughts. 

“And then I get a message from Wesley, the lead singer, saying I just wanted to say you’ve got the most amazing voice and I really love your style,” said Greer.  “He also said I really hope that our paths cross when things open back up.” 

Greer said he is in the process of recording new music and would like to release it this summer. He hopes to take his music on tour eventually or maybe even one day open for The Lumineers.
