(HACKENSACK, NJ) With Thanksgiving next week, the Center for Food Action is in full swing, getting ready for the holiday. CFA is a non-profit organization that provides emergency services to northern New Jersey’s poorest and most vulnerable residents. CFA helps with groceries, housing, utility, and heating assistance and offers counseling and advocacy services to low-income individuals and families.

For these volunteers, Thanksgiving is about giving back at a time when people need help now more than ever.

Anne Pickles who has been a volunteer at the Center for Food Action in Hackensack for 3 years and said her favorite part of  volunteering is “the crew is amazing, people are very appreciative.”
