The art installation The Gun Violence Memorial Project has been on display in Boston since mid 2024, and will remain open to the public until early 2025. The exhibition is hosted at the ICA, Boston City Hall, and the MASS Design Group.
The installation, a collaboration between artist Hank Willis Thomas and the gun prevention organization Purpose Over Pain, highlights lives lost to gun violence. It features 700 clear bricks, representing the average weekly number of gun-related deaths in the U.S. Personal items placed inside these bricks symbolize individual victims.
