(METUCHEN, NJ) – In honor of Women’s History Month, Dr. Alexandria Henriques, DAc, founder of Acupunk NYC, shares her journey of relocating her integrative wellness practice from Manhattan to Metuchen, NJ. By leading a women-owned business and collaborating with other women entrepreneurs like massage therapist Genesis Alvar, LMT, Dr. Henriques embodies this year’s theme of “Moving Forward Together.”

Pew Research shows only 22% of small businesses are majority-owned by women, highlighting the significance of Dr. Henriques’ leadership in the wellness industry. Additionally, a global health study found that 63% of women in the U.S. struggle to prioritize their health, making Dr. Henriques’ services critical.

“I always encourage women to speak up and advocate for themselves,” Dr. Henriques said, reflecting on her commitment to improving quality of life, treating chronic conditions, and empowering women.

Located on Metuchen’s Main Street—2023’s Great American Main Street—Acupunk is paving the way for women in wellness and business.
