(EL PASO, Texas) — Sunland Park and Santa Teresa residents raise concerns about recently approved Project Jupiter, a $165 billion data center that will move into the area in the near future.
This comes as community members have dealt with water issues for years. In 2023, state investigators determined that the local water utility had bypassed their arsenic treatment systems.
Even though project and county officials have said a closed-loop system will be used, residents feel that the project was rushed through without any factual information regarding the water usage.
