Protesters rallied outside an office building in Woodbury, February 27th, after ICE agents rented part of the building for a group of the agency’s attorneys.
Aresco Management, a property management company based in Hauppauge, owns the building.
Protesters picketed peacefully outside the building. There were no arrests and no violence. They held signs condemning ICE, some making reference to the fatal shootings of Renée Good and Alex Pretti in Minneapolis.
The protests began Friday but continued over the weekend. One protester who would not give his name said, “We don’t want armed, masked, untrained goons roaming in the streets of Nassau County, and we certainly don’t need any ICE attorneys on Long Island.”
Police were on the scene of the protest. One counter-protester held up the Thin Blue Line Flag next to the police in support of the agency.
