Originally from Tijuana, México, Kiara González Durán works in the entertainment industry and is interested in uplifting and amplifying the voices of women of color to pursue personal and professional success. González Durán double majored in International Development Studies and Chicano Studies at UCLA.
González Durán previously interned at different companies that align with her various interests in regards to building a more just society through political action, media representation and storytelling: HOPE, MACRO, UNCMMN, and CAA, where she learned more about media representation of BIPOC narratives within the United States and the global context, with a focus on Latin American content. She is currently a student at NYU pursuing her masters degree in American Journalism.
