City officials and policymakers met April 23 and 24 for Caddo Parish Day at the Capitol in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to collaborate on ideas concerning key issues in the area.

Those in attendance kicked off day one of the event at the Hilton in downtown Baton Rouge for networking followed by a Policy Summit on day two at the Louisiana State Capitol.

J. Kent Rogers with the Northwest Louisiana Council of Governments shared what he was looking forward to most from the event.

“Meeting with some of the locals but also meeting with some of our delegation and some of the other state officials,” Kent said.

Those in attendance included Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux, Parish Administrator Erica Bryant, representatives from the Caddo Parish Commission, Shreveport Chamber of Commerce, Shreveport Fire Department, and many others.

Officials discussed legislative priorities impacting Caddo Parish, economic development strategies for regional growth, education infrastructure and workforce readiness, and juvenile services policies and resources for Caddo youth at the policy summit.
