Gresso Café: The Place to be in Frankfurt am Main

In Germany’s financial capital Frankfurt am Main, the Gresso Café in the Westend neighborhood is the place to be for young and old. Gresso is known in Frankfurt for its excellent Coffee, fresh pastries, sandwiches, and variations of fresh pasta every Wednesday.

Gresso is a family run café, where the owner himself is hands on, serves you your coffee and greets you by name if you come often enough. “Everyone knowns everyone here,” says Levin Wirth who is a regular at Gresso. “Gresso is one of my favorite cafes.” 

Gresso is an absolute hit with people from all over Frankfurt including students from nearby universities and people on their lunch breaks, who are happy to wait on-line for a meal that tastes like its home-made.

For the first time this year, Gresso added a little Christmas shack that is reminiscent of traditional German Christmas markets, selling festive favorites like sausages and homemade mulled wine.

Whether on a Thursday afternoon for coffee and a croissant or on Friday evening when they offer cocktails and champagne to help you start the weekend off right, the place is always busy, and you are lucky if you can find a place to sit.
