Vince Davis is a veteran reporter and columnist at the San Antonio Express News. Since 1999, he’s been a valued staff writer who shines the spotlight on individuals and communities across the city. Over the years, Vince has found much success. However, he credits it to people’s simple desire for intriguing stories.

“It’s just that people still want to read stories. They still want to hear about other people,” Davis said. “They connect with the things that other people have experienced, things they’re doing, things they stand for, and we’re just a bridge. We’re just sharing.”
Liz Teitz, Vince’s colleague, values his kind and welcoming spirit. Ever since she joined the newsroom, he’s provided her with advice and support.
“Vince has so much experience, and he just gives of it so freely,” Teitz said. “He is always one of the first people to reach out to a new person who comes into the newsroom to help make them feel welcomed.”
Vince sets the standard as an excellent journalist, and does not take his responsibility as a storyteller lightly.

He plans to continue being a voice for those in the San Antonio community, and an example for young journalists coming behind him.
