Back in August, SEPTA, also known as the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority  was undergoing a 45% budget cut due to limited state funding. Most of it was restored in September, however current funding is only temporarily as the transportation authority dipped into emergency funding and has until January 1st to meet a secured funding incentive. Residents are facing financial hardship due to the increase of fares to make up for the lack of funding.
