Back in August, SEPTA, also known as the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority was forced to cut it’s budget by 45% due to limited state funding. Although much of the budget was restored in September, current funding is temporary. The transportation authority dipped into emergency funding and has until January 1 to meet a secured funding incentive. Residents are facing financial hardship due to the increase of fares to make up for the lack of funding.
