The 2026 US midterm elections on Tuesday, Nov. 3 will decide all 435 U.S House seats and more than one third of the US Senate with party control of Congress in the balance. American voters will elect 36 governors and thousands of state and local officials and decide hundreds of ballot measures concerning everything from congressional redistricting to the legality of foie gras. As in 2020 and 2024, election tallies could be challenged with final results taking days, weeks, or even months to confirm.
