Tomczyk earned her B.A. in English at Metropolitan State University of Denver, where she focused on non-fiction writing, historical documentation, and journalism covering human rights, genocide and war crimes. She joined New York University in 2021 to pursue a career in journalism as a narrative and investigative journalist.
